Childhood in Malappuram
Born in Eranad, Malappuram on April 20, 1959. As the son of Seethi Haji, he grew up in a house that was a hub of social activity, observing political discussions on Malabar's agricultural reforms.
Student Movements & MSF Organization
Active in the Muslim Students Federation (MSF), organizing campaigns for local education and cooperative youth clubs in Malappuram and Wayanad.
Agrarian Cooperative Sector Leadership
Led several dairy and agricultural cooperative societies in Eranad. He championed crop insurance and helped rubber and spice cultivators set up direct marketing networks.
IUML District Leadership
Served as a key office-bearer of the IUML Malappuram district committee, strengthening the party's organizational footprint in the eastern hilly tracts of the district.
Three-term Eranad MLA
First elected to the assembly in 2011 from the newly formed Eranad constituency. Re-elected in 2016 and 2021, he raised key questions on agricultural crop pricing, irrigation, and soil conservation.
Reforming Kerala's Agriculture
Inducted into the cabinet in 2026. As the Minister for Agriculture, he is implementing modern soil-health tracking, cold-storage warehouses, and providing direct financial aid to spice farmers.
